How to Reach Ruaha National Park

Ruaha national park is a more remote place than any other safari destination in Tanzania. However the park is easily accesible via road and air.

By Road: Your safari tour to Tanzania would be incomplete without taking a self drive tour. The self drive allows you to explore the scenic route along the way and gets you closer to the wild side of Africa. The park is about 130 km drive from Iringa town and 625 km from Dar es Salam city. There is an optional way where you can choose to hire cab that will take you directly to the park.

By Air: The nearest airport to Ruaha national park is Julius Nyerere International Airport. Most safari goers opt to go via air and the two main airstrips are Msembe and Jongomero which is located inside the park itself.  Daily flights operate out of Dar Es Salaam, Arusha, and the Selous with Coastal Aviation.
