By Air: The nearest airport to South Luangwa national park is Mfuwe Airport which has recently received an international status. By Car: One can approach South Luangwa from three directions via car. The first route is from Chipata where you can drive for 123 km that will take about two hours to reach Mfuwe, just outside the park. If you are traveling in a 4X4 robust from Lusaka, you might want to take a short cut from the Great East Road at Petauke, next to the Luangwa River to Mfuwe.
