Best Time To Visit Ranomafana National Park

The best time to visit Ranomafana National Park is during the dry season that is from the month of April to December. During this season, the weather remains calm and pleasant allowing the visitors to explore the place without any hassle. You can spot animals out in the open during the dry season, so it is best you visit this part of the region during dry months. From September until November, you may witness rain so it is likely you should avoid going to that region during rainy months.

How to Reach Ranomafana National Park

By Train: You can travel to Ranomafana National Park via train that takes your from Fianarantsoa to Manakara. This route from Fianarantsoa to Manakara offers stunning views of the vast landscapes and plantations. Choose to go for RN 7 (National Road number 7) that will take you directly to the national park.

By Air: The nearest airport to Ranomafana is Ivato International airport that is situated just 23 km away from Antananarivo. From there you can take a bus to Ranomafana National Park that will take around 6 and half hours to reach.

Take a flight Ivato International Airport just about 23 km away from Antananarivo, Madagascar (TNR / FMMI). Take a bus from Antananarivo Airport (TNR) to Ranomafana National Park and it will take around 6 and half hours. You can also take a shuttle which will reach you at your destination by 10 and half hours.

By Road: Ranomafana is located at a very easy spot lying about 60 km north from Fianarantsoa and just around 400 km south from Tana. There are two roads that cross the park-one stretch from Ambohimahasoa, RN25, and the other coming from Alakamisy, the RN45. You can commute via any of these routes all year round. You can even choose to go for taxi-brousse connection that will drop you at the village from Antananarivo and from Fianarantsoa.
