Best Time To Visit Kaokoland

Kaokoland tour can be planned any time of the year but there are a few seasons which are not ideal for exploring. The best time to visit Kaokoland is in the dry season that is from the month of May to October as the weather remains pleasant and warm. The dry season allows the animals to gather near the waterholes, making your game viewing convenient and easy. The chilling environment and cold breeze in the evening will make your safari tour well suited. Whereas, the months from November to March can be rainy and hot so it is better to avoid these months to travel to Kaokoland.

How to Reach Kaokoland

Kaokoland is a remote region of Namibia that can be accessed via air or land. Anyhow public transport is not available to travel on land.

Via air; Hosea Kutako International Airport is the international airport at Windhoek city has the nearest airport that is connected to Kaokoland with charter flights. The flights are part of fly-around safari tour booked prior to the visit.

Via land; self-driving is not recommended when you are travelling in and around Kaokoland. Cabs can be hired with guides to explore the region.
