Your 08 Days Uganda Birding and Chimpanzee Tracking Tour begins with your arrival at the Entebbe International Airport of Kampala, you will meet your travel companion before starting the tour. Reach your booked accommodation and head out for a journey to Mabamba Swamp lying at a distance of 50 km from Kampala. The tour brings up a number of bird species like Papyrus Gonolek, White Carried Tit, Red Cap, Western Banded Snake Eagle, White Winged Warbler, White Spotted Flufftail and Weyns Weaver. Mabamba Swamp is known to be the best place where you can discover a diverse range of birdlife in Africa. The most ideal way to appreciate the beauty of the wilderness and spot the birdlife is by kayak and you may even get the chance to spot the Sitatunga Antelope. By the late afternoon, get back to the accommodation for a tempting dinner and an overnight stay.
Start the morning with breakfast and you will be picked up by your tour guide for an excursion of Murchison Falls Park. On the way enjoy your meal at Masindi routing the Luwero triangle with the traditional houses and more. Passing through the Kichombanyobo gate, enjoy a small game drive at the most stunning views of the waterfalls. The wilderness here includes Red-winged Pietila, White-crested Turaco, Pel’s fishing owl, Rock Pratincole, Bat Hawk and more. Towards the end of the day, you will reach Fort Murchison for your authentic meals and an overnight stay at the booked accommodation.
Your morning starts with a tempting breakfast at the lodge before heading out a bird watching tour at Murchison Falls. The northern edge of the park houses an abundance of bird life all with the endemic and rare species. Spot Foxy Cisticola, Red-necked Falcon, Black-billed Barbet, Swallow-tailed, Northern Carmine and Red-throated Bee-eater, Pel’s Fishing Owl, Woodchat Shrike, Beautiful Sunbird, Red-winged Grey Warbler, African Quail-finch, Black-bellied and Denham’s Bustard, Harlequin Quail, Common Button-quail, Abyssinian Ground-hornbill, White-tailed Lark and the rare Shoebill Stork. Make your way back to the fort where you will enjoy your lunch and relax for the time. The evening calls for a Launch cruise at the bottom of the falls. Admire the magnificent waterfall with the marine life housing of Hippos, crocodiles and more. You will stay overnight at the booked accommodation.
After breakfast in the morning, the day is for bird watching at the Kaniyo Pabidi. Reach your lodge at Budongo forest, you will start the tour. The Kaniyo Pabidi region houses the species of Yellow and Grey Longbills, Dusky Long-tailed Cuckoo, Rofous Crowned Eremomela, African Pied Hornbill, Chestnut-capped Flycatcher White-thighed Hornbill, Crowned Eagle and a lot more. You will be guided by your tour guide spotting the diverse birdlife. get back to the lodge for dinners and an overnight stay.
The morning starts with an appetizing breakfast before checking-out. You will be transferred to the Kibale National Park, en-routing the stopovers for lunch and some bird watching. Reaching the destination, you the time for leisure and enjoy the dinner followed by an overnight stay.
You will be served the breakfast at the booked accommodation before you head out for the Chimpanzee Tracking. You will enjoy the amazing game watching spotting the apes and exploring the forest region. The wildlife her includes the species of White-spotted Flufftail, Afep Pigeon, Abyssinian Ground-thrus, Olive Long-tailed Cuckoo, Green-backed Twinspot and some more bird species. By the afternoon you will get back to the lodge where you will enjoy the lunch and rest. Later make your way towards the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for more bird watching. The Wetland Sanctuary houses White-spotted Flufftail, Lesser Honeyguide, Blue Headed Coucal among others. Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
After a tempting breakfast at your lodge, checkout and you will be transferred to the Queen Elizabeth national park. Drive through the foothills of Mountain Rwenzori enjoys the game drive exploring the wilderness of the region. Reaching the national park, you will check-in to your booked accommodation and enjoy the leisure followed by lunch. Later in the afternoon go for a Launch Cruise along kazinga channel to explore the aquatic bird life like crocodiles, hippos and other wildlife elephants and Buffalos. Get back to the booked accommodation for your dinner and overnight stay.
Your 08 Days Uganda Birding and Chimpanzee Tracking Tour ends with a delicious breakfast at the lodge before checking out. The time calls for a small game drive at Kasenyi plains where you will spot the Green-winged Pytilia, Terminicks Couser, Collared Pratincole, and more. Continue your drive to Kampala to reach the airport from where you can board the flight for your onward destination.
