Itinerary

Your 12 Days Uganda Safari with Rhino Trekking Tour begins with your arrival at the airport where you will meet our representative who will drive you to your booked hotel. You can relax for the day and overnight stay will be at booked property at Kampala.

Today after breakfast get ready to explore the famous Murchison falls which is a popular spot in the northwest of Uganda. Set off for an incredible journey to Murchison falls in the morning by 7:00am. Situated halfway between Kampala and Murchison Falls National Park, the drive to the sanctuary will take approximately 3-4 hours. Enroute drive through the famous Luweero triangle which is remembered for its brutal massacres during the Bush war that brought the ruling government in 1986. Luwerro is a common stopover point where you can purchase fresh fruits especially the pineapples before reaching Nakasongola. Nakasongola is country’s cattle corridor and while driving through you may see the cattle grazing the short grasses in open deciduous savannah woodlands. While on your way you will come across few stopovers to stretch your legs. Your first stop will be at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary where you can indulge in incredible Rhino trekking tour. This is the only sanctuary in Uganda where you can spot abundance of rhinos in their natural habitat. Apart from the rhinos you can spot other variety of animal such as kobs, warthogs, monkeys, hippos, waterbucks, and many more. Arrive at the sanctuary and begin your rhino tracking tour activity with experienced guide. The trackings usually takes about 2 hours and by afternoon continue for lunch at Kabalega Diners or straight to the park for relaxation and overnight.

Have your breakfast at the lodge and then head out for a game drive tour at the Murchison Falls national park. It will take about 2-4 hours to complete the game drive where you will get to see the rich flora and fauna of the region. While on your game drive tour, you will get t see wildlife species like giraffes, lions, elephants, buffaloes and other animals. Return back for lunch at your lodge and later head out for a boat cruise on the Albert Nile. The boat cruise starts at 2:00 pm and lasts for about 2 hours and you can get a closer view of several water animals like crocodiles, hippopotamuses, and birds. You will then return to your hotel for relaxation and lunch. You will then head out for a boat cruise on the Albert Nile. It starts at exactly 2:00 pm and lasts for about 2 hours. The cruise takes you to the bottom of the falls which is considered to be the starting point for hiking to the top of the falls and takes about 1 hour to complete. After your hiking tour, meet your driver who will take back to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Today early morning you will be transferred to Hoima where you can get a beautiful vista of the Albertine Rift valley. This great valley stretches from the Red Sea to the northern lands of Malawi and is commonly known as the East Africa Rift valley. It is considered to be one of the geographical wonders that have ever shaped the continental lands of Africa. You can head to visit western side of the East African rift valley which is usually referred to as the Albertine Rift. On arrival at Hoima, head to visit the Hoima Royal Palace which is known to be the seat of the Omukama (King) of Bunyoro His Royal Highness Solomon Gafabusa Iguru I. The palace boasts of many beautiful sceneries with the most fascinating throne room which has traditional nine legged throne wrapped in leopard skin and bark cloth. Spend your evening in Hoima and overnight stay at the hotel.

Today after breakfast, you will get transferred to Kibale Forest National Park which is situated in the western Uganda near the town of Fort Portal. The park is well known for its chimpanzees and is a popular place to visit in Uganda. Kibale National Park is home to approximately 5000 chimpanzees and is a perfect place to go for chimp tracking. With experienced ranger, you will be able to see chimps and other monkey species. Later return back to your booked lodge for relaxation and lunch. After sumptuous meal, you will head to Bigodi for a swamp walk that will last for about 2-3 hours. You will pass through grasslands, small communities and some scenic vistas that will take your breath away. Return back by evening to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Enjoy your breakfast at the booked lodge and later you will be driven to the famous Queen Elizabeth National Park. This national park is the most popular savannah reserve in Uganda attracting people from all walks of life. The park boasts of the Big 5 animals as well as extensive range of large mammals and primates. It also houses grassland savannah, forests, wetlands and lakes making it the best place to go for a game drive tour. On arrival at Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will be greeted by our representative who will help you in checking at the booked lodge. Take some rest for the day and by evening get ready for an evening game drive in Ishasha sector of the park which is well known for tree climbing lions. If you are lucky enough you might even spot them during your game drive tour. Return back by evening to your lodge for an overnight stay an dinner.

Have your breakfast at the lodge and later leave for Bwindi. Continue your safari at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and pass through incredible views of Ugandan’s amazing landscape all from flat savanna to jungle covered mountains. Take natures walk and interact with the locals and rest of the day is for leisure. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Today after breakfast get ready for the famous gorilla tracking at Bwindi forest that will allow you to get close with the big gigantic creatures. Get your registration and briefing done in the forest headquarters before you start your tracking tour. Experienced rangers are sent into the forest to check the location of the gorillas before the guests are sent out. After all the allocation is done, you will be escorted by the tracking guides who will take you through the lush green forest of Bwindi. This activity usually takes from 2-8 hours because it depends on the gorilla family location from the headquarters. Once you track them down, you have one hour to watch them play, feed and communicate. If you finish your gorilla tracking early and if you are still energized, you can choose to take a community walk and check how the communities live in that area. After your excursion, return to the lodge for sumptuous dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, spend some time with the Batwa which gives you an opportunity to enjoy hiking in the forest with the local peoples. You will be escorted by a Batwa guide who will provide you all the details about the forest and it habitats. Get to learn about how the Batwa people lived and hunted in traditional way. You may even get a chance to try your hands in hunting where a Batwa will guide you how to shoot with a bow and arrow. After your hunting tour visit a traditional Batwa homestead and get to see how they live, cook and serve a meal. You can even sample one of their dishes which are prepared by the women of the house. Hear ancient legends and traditional songs from the Batwa people and spend your evening knowing about them. Drive to Bunyonyi for the overnight.

Enjoy lip smacking breakfast at your lodge in Bunyonyi. Later, you can choose to go for a canoe ride on Africa’s second deepest lake. Swim safely as it is bilharzia free and make the most of your trip. Get ready for a boat cruise that will take you across the lake. Explore the shores of Lake Bunyonyi by taking a walk through the villages and interacting with the local communities. Return back after your cruise and dinner and overnight stay at your lodge. Get ready for a deep Uganada experience where you will learn about the rich culture and heritage of the country.

You will be served the breakfast at the lodge before proceeding the day for Igongo Cultural center. Here hike up the obscuration landmark from 1520AD to explore the social connection that is inserted in the eclipse monument that occurred in the era. The Cows of Ankole kingdom had been completely reallocated by King Olimi I of Bunyoro and the Banyankole were starving. And afterward a marvel happened when the King Olimi I was from assaulting the dairy animals of Rwanda and the all out sun powered obscuration happened when he had come to Biharwe.
